Mumbai, June 24 -- In a major relief to the farming community, the Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced a massive farm loan waiver of Rs 36,585 crore, which is expected to benefit over 56 lakh farmers across the state.
Announcing this during the third day of the Monsoon Session of the State Legislature, Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne stated that the initiative is part of the government's commitment to empowering the agrarian sector.
