Chh. Sambhajinagar, April 16 -- Amid ongoing debates over superstition in Maharashtra, Minister Sanjay Shirsat (Eknath Shinde faction) has reignited the issue with a controversial remark on "spirits" haunting a civic building.
His remarks come at a time when allegations about the influence of self-styled godman Ashok Kharat on political leaders and administrative officials are already under scrutiny.
Shirsat claimed that the premises of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation are inhabited by "spirits."According to him, the current civic building stands on land that was once a graveyard, which is why people experience discomfort in the area.
