Mumbai, April 13 -- Following the passing of the legendary Padma Vibhushan Asha Bhosle, the Maharashtra government has taken a landmark decision to establish a world-class music academy in Mumbai to preserve her eternal memory.

In a historic tribute to the legend, the state cabinet has officially greenlit a proposal to fulfill Asha Tai's long-standing wish by creating a premier institution for musical excellence.

The academy will be constructed in the Bandra-Andheri belt of Mumbai, as previously requested by Asha Bhosle herself.
