Kolhapur/Raigad, June 28 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that the state government will officially approve and fund a dedicated drinking water supply project to permanently resolve the historic Raigad Fort's water scarcity issues.

Shinde, who was addressing the 353rd Shivrajyabhishek ceremony at the historic Raigad Fort in Raigad district, assured the farming community that if the delayed monsoon causes agricultural distress, the Mahayuti government will stand firmly by their side with all necessary support.

He reasserted that the government's flagship 'Ladki Bahin' financial assistance scheme will continue smoothly and its funds will never be stopped.
