Mumbai, June 22 -- The Maharashtra state government on Monday tabled supplementary demands totaling Rs 97,706 crore in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, marking the commencement of the monsoon session. The massive outlay, aimed at funding various welfare schemes and infrastructure projects, has drawn sharp attention to the state's fiscal management.
The supplementary demands, intended to cover expenditures beyond the initial annual budget allocations, were presented by the state Finance Department.
