Mumbai, June 24 -- The Maharashtra government on Wednesday directed all departments to "immediately implement" a Government Resolution (GR) of the June 5, 2026, granting educational and other concessions to the Maratha community on par with the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), while also announcing a series of measures to expedite the delivery of reservation-related benefits and address grievances.

The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting of the Maharashtra Cabinet Sub-Committee on Maratha Reservation, chaired by Water Resources Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.
