Mumbai, July 31 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has seized and prohibited illegal drugs, cosmetics, medical devices and other products worth Rs 9.50 crore during 88 raids conducted across the state in June and July this year.

According to an official release issued on Friday, the FDA registered 20 FIRs and arrested 10 persons during the statewide crackdown against fake drugs, unlicensed manufacturing, NDPS violations, misbranded cosmetics and misleading advertisements.

Of the total action, drugs and other goods worth Rs 5.69 crore were seized, while stock worth Rs 3.81 crore was prohibited from sale and distribution.
