Mumbai, Sept. 8 -- Maharashtra is steadily strengthening its position on the global tourism map, attracting visitors with its scenic coastline, historic forts, heritage sites, religious destinations and rich natural beauty.

Nearly 44.97 lakh foreign tourists visited the state in 2025, placing Maharashtra second in the country in terms of foreign tourist arrivals.

According to Tourism Ministry data, Maharashtra ranks sixth nationally in overall tourist visits and second in foreign tourist arrivals.
