Mumbai, Aug. 7 -- In a major move to curb the spread of terrorism and extremist ideology, the Maharashtra government has ordered the seizure of all copies of 114 publications, magazines, documents and digital materials linked to banned terrorist organisations.
The directive was issued through a Gazette notification by the State Home Department on August 6, 2026.
According to the government, the banned material was being used to promote violent extremist ideology, glorify terrorist organisations and radicalise youth.
The action has been taken to safeguard public order, state security and the nation's integrity.
