Mumbai, April 29 -- In a significant policy push spanning technology, environment, education and social welfare, the Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved seven key decisions aimed at long-term development and inclusive growth across the state.
The Cabinet cleared the Maharashtra Artificial Intelligence Policy 2026, marking a major step towards positioning the state as a technology hub. The policy aims to attract investments exceeding Rs 10,000 crore and is expected to generate around 1.5 lakh employment opportunities. As part of this initiative, six AI Centres of Excellence and five AI Innovation Cities will be established to decentralise technological growth beyond major urban centres.
