Mumbai, Sept. 26 -- A youth was injured after he was allegedly assaulted during a Ganesh visarjan procession at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Bhiwandi of neighbouring Thane district, police said today.
The incident took place on Friday under the jurisdiction of Nizampur police station.
The injured youth, identified as Rishikesh Jitendra Vagal, a worker of Ajay Nagar Mitra Mandal, suffered an injury to his nose.
He was initially taken to IGM Hospital, where he received first aid, and was later shifted to Siraj Hospital for further treatment.
