Mumbai, Nov. 2 -- The "Loknete Gopinath Munde Sugarcane Workers Welfare Corporation" has directed all district collectors to hold joint review meetings with concerned departments within 15 days to address health, safety, education and basic facilities for sugarcane workers.
The directions follow the recommendations made by Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Legislative Council member Dr Neelam Gorhe regarding the welfare of sugarcane workers, particularly women and children.
According to Ms Gorhe, the Corporation's Managing Director Deepa Mudhol-Munde issued the instructions under the guidance of Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat.
