Chandrapur, May 19 -- A woman was killed in a tiger attack while collecting Tendu leaves in a forest area near Hanuman Temple in Kitadi Mendha village of Nagbhid taluka in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Indira Uike, who had ventured into the forest in the morning to collect Tendu leaves.
According to officials, the incident occurred between 8:30 am and 9:00 am when a tiger, reportedly lying in ambush near the Hanuman Temple forest area, suddenly attacked her. She sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.
