Mumbai, July 10 -- Mira Road police have busted an alleged prostitution racket being operated in Kashigaon area of Mira Road town in neighbouring Thane district by rescuing two young women and arresting a woman accused of acting as an agent, police said today.
According to police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-I) Rahul Chavan received specific information through an NGO that a woman was allegedly supplying women, including those working at orchestra bars and dance establishments, to customers at a hotel near the Mumbai-Gujarat Highway in Mira Road (East).
Acting on the tip-off, a team from Kashigaon Police Station led by Senior Police Inspector Rahul Kumar Patil laid a trap by deploying a decoy customer.
