Yavatmal, May 20 -- In a shocking incident from Maharashtra, a woman allegedly abandoned her two young children on a state transport bus and eloped with her lover after stealing cash and a scooter from her father, police said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light after the children were found crying inside a bus in Beed district.
According to police, the woman seated her two children on a Pandharpur-Sambhajinagar-bound bus before leaving the spot with her lover on a scooter allegedly stolen from her father.
A handwritten note found in the pocket of one of the children read: "These children have no parents. Please put them on a bus going to Yavatmal." The note also contained a mobile phone number.
