Mumbai, Aug. 1 -- A goods truck overturned and caught fire on the Anjanari Ghat stretch of the Mumbai-Goa National Highway in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district today, injuring the driver and cleaner, officials said.
The truck was travelling from Goa to Mumbai when the driver allegedly lost control while negotiating the steep descent at Anjanari Ghat in Lanja taluka. The vehicle overturned before catching fire and was completely gutted in the blaze.
The injured occupants sustained burn injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Officials said both are in stable condition.
Fire brigade personnel and police rushed to the spot, brought the fire under control and cleared the accident site.
