Mumbai , July 11 -- Two college students drowned while swimming in a lake-like pond at Ketkipada in Dahisar suburb of the city, officials said here today.
Police have identified the deceased as Piyush Gupta (19, a resident of Kandivali area) and Om Ankush Singh (also 19, a resident of Andheri area).
According to police, the four friends had planned the outing two days earlier. They went to the water body in Ketkipada area of Dahisar yesterday. While swimming, Gupta and Singh went deeper and did not resurface. Their two friends raised an alarm.
Local residents and police teams reached the spot. Their bodies were later recovered and sent for post-mortem.
