Ratnagiri, Oct. 25 -- A special court in Chiplun has sentenced teacher Uday Namdev Velhal to life imprisonment and imposed a fine on him in a serious case involving the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in Guhagar taluka of Ratnagiri district.
The incident took place in March 2020, when the victim was studying in Class II at a school in the taluka.
According to information available in the case, the girl's mother lodged a complaint at the Guhagar police station after the incident came to light. The police subsequently initiated an investigation and took legal action against the accused teacher.
