Nagpur/Wardha, Sept. 26 -- Panic gripped passengers aboard the Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express after a stone allegedly struck and shattered the window of an AC coach near Wardha on Friday night, narrowly missing passengers seated inside, officials said on Saturday.
According to railway officials, the incident occurred around 9 pm when Train No. 12290 was on its way to Mumbai.
The stone hit a window of the coach, causing the glass to crack and scatter, while passengers sitting just inches away escaped unhurt.
The train was halted at Wardha station following the incident, where a complaint was lodged with the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
