Mumbai, Sept. 1 -- Veteran Gandhian and social activist Anna Hazare was admitted to Bombay Hospital here today after his health deteriorated due to viral infection, acute dehydration and kidney-related complications.
Hospital sources said the 89-year-old activist was brought to Mumbai in a cardiac ambulance from his native village Ralegan Siddhi in Ahilyanagar district along with his caretakers and was admitted in the afternoon.
He is under the care of senior physician Dr Gautam Bhansali. Medical tests are underway, following which the next course of treatment will be decided, Dr Bhansali said.
