Mumbai, May 9 -- Objection to the Maharashtra government's decision to increase development funds allocated to municipal mayors was raised by Shiv Sena (UBT), while concern was expressed over alleged cuts in allocations meant for civic infrastructure works.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the increase in the mayoral development fund from Rs 150 crore to Rs 250 crore was highlighted, and allegations were made that funds meant for "road concretisation" and the "solid waste management" department had been diverted.

The move was described by the party as an example of misplaced priorities, and it was alleged that allocations intended for essential public amenities were being redirected for political purposes.
