Pune, Aug. 13 -- Pune Cyber Police today claimed to have busted a high-tech inter-state cybercrime network that allegedly extorted Rs 10.74 crore from an 82-year-old senior citizen by threatening him with arrest in a fictitious criminal case.

The accused allegedly told the victim that his bank account had been used to receive money linked to a serious crime and that he and his family members could be arrested at any time. The threats were used to induce the victim to transfer Rs 10.74 crore.
