Gadchiroli, Aug. 28 -- : A 26-year-old pregnant woman from the remote Koindul village in Etapalli taluka of Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district was carried on a makeshift stretcher through floodwaters and across a swollen river after heavy rains cut off road access to her village.
The incident occurred on Friday when Chhaya Suresh Naitam required medical attention but an ambulance could not reach the village due to inundated roads and disrupted connectivity caused by continuous rainfall.
With no alternative means of transport available, villagers and family members carried the woman on a stretcher through difficult terrain and flood-affected areas before she could be taken to a healthcare facility for treatment.
