Mumbai, July 25 -- A portion of the sixth floor of a MHADA cessed building collapsed onto the fifth floor in South Mumbai today, officials said.
The incident occurred around 12:34 p.m. at Lokhandwala Building, a MHADA cessed structure located on Vitthaldas Chandan Street in the Masjid Bunder area of South Mumbai, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)'s Mumbai Fire Brigade.
Six people were inside the affected flat at the time of the collapse. All of them were safely evacuated by rescue personnel.
Two persons, identified as Bilal Shaikh (35) and Jamshed Shaikh (55), sustained injuries and were taken to the private Sahara Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical attention, both were discharged, officials said.
