Nagpur, March 16 -- At least 26 labourers were injured, 10 of them critically, after a pickup vehicle carrying them overturned near Mowad in Narkhed taluka of Maharashtra's Nagpur district, police said today.

According to officials, the labourers, residents of Warud tehsil in neighbouring Amravati district, were travelling from Ganeshpur to Belona village to pluck oranges when the accident occurred on Saturday around 10:30 am.

The driver allegedly lost control of the speeding vehicle near Movad, causing it to overturn on the road.

As the vehicle was reportedly carrying labourers beyond its capacity, several passengers fell on top of each other when it overturned, sustaining serious injuries.
