Mumbai, March 27 -- India's first "musical road" in Mumbai, located in south Mumbai on the Coastal Road at Breach Candy, has stopped playing the "Jai Ho" from the Oscar-winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire' tune at night following the complaints of noise pollution from Breach Candy residents, officials said here today.
The 500-metre, 24/7 musical track meant to play music via rumble strips at 60-80 km/hour was deemed a nuisance, forcing the civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to restrict its operation during late-night hours, between 11 pm and 7 am.
