Mumbai, Aug. 13 -- The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai, has seized 15,018 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup, 12,240 Tramadol tablets and 1.060 kg of charas in two separate operations against an interstate drug trafficking network, and arrested two persons, officials said on Thursday.
In the first operation, NCB officials on August 8 intercepted a passenger bus travelling from Gujarat to Mumbai and seized 1,080 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup weighing 108 kg. One N. Shaikh, a Bhiwandi resident, was arrested in connection with the seizure.
