Mumbai, Aug. 9 -- A public movement seeking protection of 256 acres of Mithagar (salt pan) land in Mulund East was held here today on the occasion of Kranti Din, with around 500-600 citizens, activists, social workers, youth representatives and local residents participating in it.
The "Namak Satyagraha 2026", organised by Ekta - The Power of Youth & Unity NGO under the leadership of its Founder and President Rakesh Shankar Shetty, was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's historic Salt Satyagraha.
The participants raised the slogan, "Save Mithagar - Save Mumbai - Save Our Future", and demanded protection of the entire 256-acre Mithagar land from environmentally harmful development.
