Raigad, March 9 -- The membership drive of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was formally launched at the foothills of Raigad Fort, the first capital of the Maratha Empire, in the presence of party chief Raj Thackeray.

On the occasion, Thackeray refrained from making any political speech and said that he would share his views during the party's anniversary gathering.

He stated that many people are willing to join the party and urged party workers to actively meet citizens and interact with them.

Thackeray instructed workers to enroll as many members as possible and set up membership booths at busy locations such as village and city squares, colleges, and temples.
