Nashik, June 3 -- Shrimant Hari Giri Maharaj-the National Secretary of the Juna Akhada-has expressed his strong opposition to granting any weapon licenses to anyone under the guise or name of an Akhada.
He expressed his disapproval after several Sadhus and Mahants submitted applications to the district administration seeking pistol licences in light of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. Some Sadhus and Mahants petitioned the administration for firearm licences, citing the need to protect the assets of their respective Akhadas.
