Sindhudurg, June 30 -- Incessant heavy rainfall over the past two days triggered a landslide at Walaval village in Kudal taluka of the district today, causing damage to a house after a debris of rocks and mud tumbled down a hillside.
The incident occurred in the Muhurtali Wadi area of Walaval, where soil from the hill had been sliding since late last night. As the rain continued unabated, a large rock broke loose and crashed into a nearby house, leaving cracks in its walls.
Fortunately, no one was injured. However, the family living in the damaged house has been left shaken by the incident.
