Latur, April 17 -- In a significant crackdown on the illegal transport of banned tobacco products, the Local Crime Branch in Latur arrested a man and seized gutka and related items worth Rs 8.56 lakh along with a vehicle in the Gandhi Chowk area, an official said today.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs about the movement of prohibited gutka along the route between Majge Nagar and Twinkle Land English School, a police team set up a trap near the Vitthal-Rukmini temple. A suspicious car bearing registration number MH-09 CV-9124 was intercepted during the operation.
