Kolhapur, July 8 -- Four members, including a couple and their two children, were electrocuted due to coming in contact with a live overhead power line, an incident which occurred this morning in Khamgaon in the Phaltan tehsil of Satara district.
According to Phaltan rural police, four members of a family came in contact with an overhead power line, which goes in front of their residence.
In this incident four members of a family, who were trying to save each other, were electrocuted on the spot. The family died after coming into contact with a live wire that had fallen outside their home.
Police identified the deceased as Satish Kisan Shinde (45), his wife Gangu (40), their son Sachin (26) and daughter Aarti (24).
