Ratnagiri, June 21 -- : A tragic incident occurred at the popular tourist destination of Ganpatipule in Ratnagiri district today morning when eight tourists from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar entered the sea and were swept away by strong waves.
According to officials, the group ventured into the water around 10 a.m. However, due to high tide and an apparent misjudgment of sea conditions, all eight tourists began drifting away with the currents. Local residents and lifeguards immediately launched a rescue operation and successfully saved three people.
Unfortunately, five tourists remain missing.
