Gadchiroli, March 30 -- At least five persons, including an eight-year-old girl, were killed and 12 others seriously injured in a head-on collision between a private travel bus and a Scorpio SUV in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, police said on Monday.
The accident occurred on Sunday evening near a petrol pump on the Talodhi road in Chamorshi taluka when the bus, reportedly belonging to a private tours and travels operator, collided with the SUV carrying wedding guests.
According to police, around 16 passengers from Kurul Rampur village were returning to Bhadbhidi after attending a wedding when the mishap took place.
The impact was severe, leaving the SUV mangled and causing multiple casualties on the spot.
