Kolhapur, June 2 -- Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) national president and former MP, Raju Shetty, today cautioned the Maharashtra government regarding its proposed farm loan waiver scheme, warning that loan waiver scheme for farmers should not be a scheme full of oppressive conditions and extremely deceptive like the populist 'Ladki Bahin Scheme'.
In a press statement issued here, Shetty referred to a statement made by state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while expressing his inability to announce loan waiver scheme for distressed farmers of the state due to the Election Commission's model code of conduct for local bodies elections.
