Mumbai, March 23 -- Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede today denied allegations that he sought or accepted a bribe from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to "spare" his son Aryan Khan in the high-profile Cordelia cruise drug bust case.
Arguing before a division bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Suman Shyam during the hearing of a petition filed by Wankhede seeking quashing of an FIR (first information report) registered against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in May 2023 on charges of corruption and bribery, Senior Advocate Aabad Ponda said that there is no material on record to substantiate the allegations.
