Washim, Sept. 12 -- A prolonged dry spell lasting over a month has severely affected agricultural crops in Washim district of the Vidarbha region in eastern Maharashtra, with soybean, tur and cotton bearing the brunt of the damage.
Farmers in Karanja, Manora, Mangrulpir, Malegaon and Washim talukas have reported extensive crop losses due to the lack of adequate rainfall.
Soybean crops in several areas have reportedly been completely damaged, leaving farmers facing heavy financial losses after spending substantial amounts on seeds, fertilisers, labour and other inputs.
