Pune, Sept. 11 -- Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Friday criticised Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut over his statements on farmers' issues, alleging that Raut's concern for farmers is "political drama". Ban said state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had announced a loan waiver for farmers and that the state government was extending assistance in areas facing drought-like conditions.
Referring to the previous Uddhav Thackeray-led government, Ban alleged that farmers have not received the promised Rs 50,000 assistance despite announcements made during visits to their fields.
