Mumbai, July 11 -- A BEST bus driver was arrested after the bus he was driving lost control and crashed into around 14 vehicles, including cars and an autorickshaw on the busy SV Road in western suburb of Andheri.

The bus veered into oncoming traffic during evening hours on Friday, hitting several two-wheelers and four-wheelers parked and moving along the stretch. Four people sustained minor injuries and were given medical treatment, officials said here on Saturday.

Soon after the incident, BEST bus driver Sahil Suryakant Sawant (30) was taken into custody by the DN Nagar police under charges of rash and negligent driving, while conductor Appa Kadam was also detained.
