Mumbai, June 20 -- In a significant verdict delivered nearly two decades after the murder of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar, a Special CBI Court in city has acquitted all the accused, including former union Minister and ex-MP Padamsinh Patil, due to lack of sufficient evidence.
The court cited a lack of sufficient evidence while granting them the benefit of doubt.
Patil, his family members and the family of the late Pawanraje Nimbalkar, including his son Omraje Nimbalkar, were present in the courtroom when the judgment was pronounced. Family members of Nimbalkar's driver Samad Qazi, who was also killed in the attack, attended the hearing as well.
