Chandrapur, June 29 -- : A six-year-old boy died after a snakebite in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district, with his family alleging that the absence of an ambulance at a primary health centre delayed his transfer for advanced treatment.
The incident occurred in Lachmaguda village in the remote Jiwati tehsil. The deceased, identified as Sameer Maroti Atram, was reportedly bitten by a venomous snake while sleeping at his house early on Monday.
Family members rushed him to the Patan Primary Health Centre, where doctors administered first aid and referred him to the Rural Hospital at Gadchandur for further treatment.
