Nagpur, June 2 -- A five-year-old boy died after allegedly suffering an electric shock at a residential complex in Nagpur city, police said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at the Garib Nawaz Complex near Tipu Sultan Chowk under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Sahat Ahmed Mohammad Arshad (5), a resident of Mominpura.

According to preliminary information, the child came in contact with a live electric source and was critically injured.

He was rushed for medical treatment but succumbed to the shock.
