Pune, Aug. 17 -- The Bombay High Court has granted bail to Deepak Gulab Bhatambrekar, the last of seven accused jailed in connection with the 2010 murder of Kishor Marne, a case that brought gangster Sharad Mohol into prominence in Pune's underworld.

A division bench comprising Justices M.S. Karnik and Sandesh D. Patil passed the order.

Bhatambrekar was among seven persons, including Sharad Mohol, convicted for Marne's murder at a hotel near Nilayam Theatre in January 2010 in Pune.

The killing was linked to the prolonged rivalry between the Mohol and Marne gangs, which had kept Pune's crime branch occupied for several years.

Bhatambrekar was arrested in the same month and remained behind bars for nearly 12 years.
