Chennai, Oct. 7 -- The Madras High Court on Wednesday refused to grant an interim stay on the investigation into a case registered by the DVAC against senior DMK leader and former Minister E.V.Velu, presently the DMK Whip in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, and his son E.V. Kumaran and others in the illegal excavation of lake-bed material at Malappambadi village in his nAtive Tiruvannamalai district in 2025 during the previous DMK regime.
The unauthorised excavated lake-bed material /soil was used for levelling the venue of a DMK Northern Zone Youth Wing conference held at Tiruvannamalai in December last year.
