Chennai, Aug. 25 -- The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has dismissed petitions seeking a CBI probe into the alleged fraudulent registration of 1.40 acres of land belonging to the Palani Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga, valued at around Rs 100 crore.
When the pleas came up for hearing on Monday evening, a status report was filed by the Crime Branch-CID wing of the Tamil Nadu police on the progress of the investigation into the case.
The report mentioned abut the searches conducted in six districts, seizures of 207 documents, mobile phones, laptops, electronic gadgets including hard disks, audio records and cash.
