Chennai, June 17 -- In a legal victory for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, the Madras High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking an Income Tax probe into the alleged discrepancies in the disclosure of assets in the affidavits for two constituencies he had contested and won in the just-concluded assembly election.
Dismissing the plea, the First Bench of Chief Justice SA Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan observed that the court had previously dismissed a batch of petitions praying for similar relief.
Earlier, in April 2026, holding the alleged discrepancy of Rs 100 crore in the two affidavits filed by Vijay as an irregularity, the Bench had issued notices on the plea.
