Chennai, July 11 -- The Madras High Court has dismissed an election petition challenging the victory of DMK strongman and Former Minister V Senthilbalaji from the Coimbatore South constituency in the recent Assembly polls.
Dismissing the plea filed by one Prakasam of neighbouring Erode district seeking to declare Senthilbalaji's poll victory as null and void, Justice N.Anand Venkatesh held that the petitioner was not a registered voter of the constituency where the DMK leader had contested andwon and hence his petition was dismissed.
Law does not permit a voter from one constituency challenging the victory of a candidate in another constituency, the Judge said.
