Kolkata, July 22 -- Shubharup Mitra, son of defected Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at the agency's CGO Complex office here on Wednesday in connection with the alleged municipal recruitment scam.
Shubharup was seen entering the ED office carrying a file in the morning but declined to respond to questions from the media.
The ED has summoned Madan Mitra's two sons, Shubharup and Swarup, as well as his wife Archana, on separate dates as part of its investigation into the alleged irregularities in municipal recruitment.
The Kamarhati MLA himself has been asked to appear before the agency on July 29.
