Hyderabad, Aug. 12 -- Distinguished geoscientist and former Chief Scientist at CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), Hyderabad, Dr M. Ram Mohan has been appointed Director of the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG), Dehradun, an autonomous R&D institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
Dr Ram Mohan served CSIR-NGRI for over 26 years and is a specialist in geochemistry and petrology. His research has focused on Archean geodynamics, continental crustal evolution and the geological history of the Indian Shield.
He recently joined the University of Hyderabad as Professor at the Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences.
